Rasayana – The Ayurveda Therapy for Longevity

Ayurveda is the ancient medical stream raised in ancient Indian life style and culture. Here we are discussing about Rasayana therapy in Ayurveda that increases the life force and immunity of human body and thus there is a rebuilding of body cells and tissues and helping to prevent the body aging difficulties.

 

Rasa is the vital fluid produced by the digestion of food and Rasayana means augmentation of Rasa. This treatment is maintaining production and distribution of Rasa in the body. Rasa is also using in Ayurveda texts as the connotation for particular herbal medicine that maintains the life and health of the individual. Rasayana, vajikarana and aushadhis are three medicine categories in Ayurveda and they promote general health and longevity, sexual vigor, immunity respectively.

 

Rasayana therapy is taken in two different ways. Kutipravesika is one of the methods of therapy. There is constructing a cottage with elaborate arrangements and the patient stay secluded here, while taking Rasayana. The person must follow strict diets and other instructions from physician. Kaya Kalpa is another method and it means renewal of the body. It is a special rejuvenating method for th body through cell and tissue renewal. It is supposed to endow an individual with longevity, memory, intellect, youth, strength of sensory and motor organs, even, an excellent complexion and voice.
